WHY?

I saw a number of day shows at SXSW on Wednesday, but WHY? is the is the only band worth talking about. I tried seeing all the hipster, laptop pop at Peacock, but I forgot that there are hundreds of unemployed "ironic" hat wearing 20-somethings that live on the west side. So, yeah. The line was too long for that show. I then tried going to the Austinist show at the Mohawk. I had no trouble getting in. However, the lack luster line-up and the constant feeling that the show was another hipsters-only club, I decided to meet Gus and Amanda at Emo's. When I got there, I got to see The Mae Shi. Lot's of noise and energy, but in a sucky way. There was even a sheet at one point, just to make sure I really hated them.


After that, we all had the pleasure to see WHY?. This is a band I would see again. Amanda told me that the best line this band would ever say came in the first song. It was "blowin' kisses to disinterested bitches". I think I have to agree. I didn't get that song on video. I did get another song. See for yourself.
